Loved it Tracie Reeves Owen ------------------------------------------ A Must Read! Gives you a Lift from the chaos of our day! Tracie Reeves Owen --------------------------------------------- Although about fishing, this short story is not for the professional or experienced angler. Yet, it may appeal to a fisherman who has trained a novice and knows the troubles that can occur with beginners. As someone who worked as a fishing guide for one summer, catering to many rookies, I found the story very assuming. The book humorously summarizes one fishing trip from rising at an ungodly hour to relaxing by the fireplace at home at the end of a long day. In between is a detailed description of all the assorted tasks, including packing up a lunch, the kids and the dog, getting together the fishing tackle, and boating on the lake. There is also an exhaustive description of all the required fishing tackle, from bait, hooks, and lures to rods, reels, and fly tying. Again, an experienced fisherman might find all this unnecessary, but the story is aimed at those new to the game or those who would appreciate reliving the trials and tribulations of learning what not to do. There are even hints about how to clean fish and some recipes for preparing a tasty fish fry. This story is a perfect springtime read for an individual who learned that their new partner is an avid angler and prefers to get outdoors and go along than to hear later about their fish stories.
